Abstract
Inorganic bromide can be determined in soil extracts by flow injection potentiometry at a rate of 80 samples per hour with a standard deviation of 1.6%. Soil-extracted samples (30 µl) are injected into a 1 mol dm–3 potassium nitrate carrier solution containing 100 mg dm–3 chloride as an ionic strength adjustment buffer. The sample-buffer zone formed is transported through a laboratory-made coated tubular solid-state bromide-selective electrode on to the reference electrode. The method is suitable for the determination of bromide in the range 1–5000 mg dm–3.Keywords
