Abstract
Unique, spindle-shaped particles (.vphi. bodies) and rods with peroxidatic activity are found in certain epithelial cells of normal mice, clofibrate-fed rats and in leukemic leukocytes. The ellipsoidal shape of .vphi. bodies apparently results from the deformation of spherical granules by extrusion of axial crystalloid that subsequently fragments into rods. Keywords
