Abstract
Family composition and life-style have changed, creating new and diverse needs among contemporary families. In recent years, national and community foundations have assumed a leadership role in meeting the diverse needs of families. The authors reviewed the family-focused grant records of various foundations. Although the level of family-based support is meagre relative to the total funding pool, the authors conclude that foundations may be poised to play an important role in the development of holistic, comprehensive family-based services. Keywords
