Abstract
Immunologically determined reference values of serum transferrin are presented for adults and children. A good correlation between serum transferrin and total iron‐binding capacity values was found. In 2 groups of anaemic patients ‐ 51 patients with iron deficiency anaemia and 45 patients with anaemia of chronic disorders ‐ serum transferrin determination distinguishes the two groups of anaemic patients from normals somewhat better than TIBC determination. Keywords
