Abstract
Roots and stems of four woody plant species were evaluated for cold hardiness following storage at 2 and −7 C. Stem tissue achieved much greater hardiness than root tissue under both storage temperatures. Roots severed from the plant prior to storage were similar in hardiness to roots from intact plants. Keywords
