Abstract
A new directional coupling system for a waveguide has been developed. The system is the combination of two loop elements on the narrow side of a waveguide and a coaxial 3 dB, 90 degrees hybrid coupler and can easily be installed on the waveguide-array mouth for launching a lower hybrid wave into plasma. An experimental test of the system was carried out near a frequency of 1250 MHz and the directivity was found to be about 20 dB.Keywords
