Abstract
The structure of withaphysalin C, a new naturally occurring steroidal lactone of the withanolide group, isolated from Physalis minima(Solanaceae), has been elucidated. This is a 13,14-seco-steroid closely related to withaphysalin A. The lack of a 17α-OH precluded the formation of a 17 → 14 hemiacetal as in the physalins, leading to the alternative formation of a 13 → 14 hemiacetal. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
