Abstract
The development of a neonatal nurse practitioner can be accomplished, using a nursery nurse as the beginning student. Twenty-four hours of crib-side teaching and approximately two months of practical experience were necessary to achieve our stated objectives. Through a discussion of the problems encountered as well as benefits and satisfactions of the program, we hope to encourage other pediatricians to develop similar programs. Keywords
