Abstract
Over a year ago, in response to growing public and professional interest in Laetrile, the National Cancer Institute indicated that it would consider conducting a Phase II clinical trial of the drug, given appropriate indications for such a trial. This possibility is still under consideration. Before deciding on a trial, however, the Institute has sought to evaluate the potential therapeutic efficacy of Laetrile in animal models, as with other new drugs. Thus, the Institute has tested Laetrile in its preclinical screen, and it has reviewed the results of similar tests by several nonfederal institutions.The various preclinical tests of Laetrile . . .Keywords
