Why the National Cancer Institute Chooses a Case-Record Review of Laetrile

Abstract
Over a year ago, in response to growing public and professional interest in Laetrile, the National Cancer Institute indicated that it would consider conducting a Phase II clinical trial of the drug, given appropriate indications for such a trial. This possibility is still under consideration. Before deciding on a trial, however, the Institute has sought to evaluate the potential therapeutic efficacy of Laetrile in animal models, as with other new drugs.
