Abstract
Heparin prolongs the 1-stage prothrombin time. This heparin effect can introduce difficulties in anticoagulant management of patients receiving heparin concomitantly with prothrombinopenic agents, including the apparent sudden development of resistance to the latter. The effects of various doses of intravenous subcutaneous heparin on the one-stage prothrombin time are presented. Keywords
