Abstract
Fifty-four patients with known occlusive disease of the internal carotid system have been examined by arteriography and radioisotope flow studies. An excellent correlation of the roent-genographic demonstration of collateral pathways and the appearance of the radioisotope flow curves over the affected hemisphere as well as the clinical course of the patient were observed. The radioisotope flow curves reflected the speed of circulation and the overall volume of blood entering the affected hemisphere. The method appeared to be particularly valuable in the ultimate prognostication of adequate collateral supply. Keywords
