Abstract
The authors tested 59 sulfones for their in vitro activity against tubercle bacilli. From comparison of the chemical nature of the effective and ineffective compounds it is stated that maximum activity appears to depend upon the presence of 2 para-oriented free ammo groups. Modification of the sulfone linkage, with one notable exception, reduced greatly the bacteriostatic activity. Keywords
