The Traditional Chinese Attitude Towards Old Age

Abstract
This paper was presented at the annual scientific meeting of the gerontological society, Inc. On invitation of the program committee as a part of a symposium on the psychologic and sociologic aspects of aging. because of traditional concepts different from those of western nations, the chinese tradition includes high esteem for old. Age. Dr. Chandler raises the question of whether or not there is reason to expect that the western world may in some degree adopt the chinese attitude toward old age.
