Abstract
The formation of negative ions resulting from the electron bombardment of germanium tetrafluoride has been studied as a function of the electron energy. Appearance potentials of these ions were determined and measurements of their excess kinetic energies were made for the dissociative electron attachment in order to estimate values for the enthalpy of formation of germanium trifluoride and its electron affinity. Keywords
