Abstract
Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases are age-related degenerative disorders that share common clinical, pathological and biochemical features. Epidemiological studies demonstrate a similar distribution of the disease in place and time. Causes of death and populations at higher risk are similar. These findings suggest that these diseases must have common determinants. Keywords
