Abstract
Owing to the modulation of composition of the ordered structure of TiAl, two different cases of twin intersections can arise depending on the orientation of the common direction of the twin habit planes. We analyse these two possibilities and conclude that, if intersections arise, they must involve different mechanisms from which different activation energies can be expected. The different experimental configurations analysed and reported in this paper have the orientation which corresponds to the easiest twinning mechanism. Keywords
