Abstract
The application of the venous catheter to the study of removal of bacteria from the blood of dogs and rabbits is described. The removal of Micrococcus aureus by the hind-limb, head, lung, kidney, splanchnic organs and spleen was studied. There was no significant removal in the dog lungs, kidney, or head. The removal by the hind limb was of questionable significance. The splanchnic organs of the dog removed 74 [plus or minus] 16% and the spleen removed 78 + 17% The splanchnic removal of the encapsulated Klebsiella pneumoniao averaged 20 [plus or minus] 10%.Keywords
