Abstract
A nonrigid small vessel anastomosis can be made mechanically with the Russian stapler, with the expectation of a high patency rate. Graft factors which are unrelated to the anastomotic technique appear to be the major cause of thrombosis of synthetic prostheses in small arteries. Autogenous vein grafts remain the most effective small artery prosthesis. Keywords
