Abstract
The flowering behavior in the field of plants of T. repens in 14 populations from Nordland, Troms and Finnmark was recorded in late July and early Aug. For all populations the number of leaves initiated per stem after the resumption of growth in the spring averaged 12.5-15.28. Inflorescences were initiated only at the first 4-9 nodes formed, the last 6-11 nodes produced being entirely vegetative. Florescence initiation took place only at the start of the growing season. Comparison of plants grown at the Experiment Farm in Alta from seed collected from wild plants at various localities showed that plants originating in Finnmark initiated inflorescences for a much shorter period before reverting to vegetative growth than did those originating in Troms.
