Abstract
With film echography, a considerable amount of intracranial detail is seen in obstetrical echograms particularly when the fetus is in breech presentation. The most commonly recorded echo arises from the falx cerebri. Echoes are also consistently recorded from the third and the lateral ventricles and from bony outlines such as the middle, posterior, and hypophyseal fossa as well as the facial bones. Using these echoes as landmarks, it is possible to determine the exact sectional plane of the echogram allowing an accurate measurement of the diameters of the skull. Keywords
