Abstract
Hyperthyroidism induced in tuberculous guinea pigs resulted in a reduced growth of bacilli in the tissues, an inhibition of at least the early phase of the tuberculous process and a decrease or delay in caseation. There is a similarity between the effect of hyperthyroidism in experimental tuberculosis and certain features of sarcoidosis. Varied experimentation with other strains of tubercle bacilli and, possibly, other metabolic states is suggested as a possible approach to experimental sarcoidosis. Keywords
