Abstract
Hand lotion containing 2% glutaric acid was significantly more effective than placebo in inactivating rhinovirus serotype 2 on the fingers of human volunteers. It may be possible to develop safe, cosmetically acceptable hand lotions which have durable virucidal activity and can interrupt the hand-to-hand transmission of rhinovirus colds.Keywords
