Abstract
We present a dilatometer and an apparatus which automatically records the height of the mercury column as a function of time. The precision on changes of 30 cm in height may attain ± 0.007cm. The stability of the electrical circuitry is such that measurements may span over several weeks. The measurement is based on electrical conductivity. An application is reported. Keywords
