Abstract
This paper reviews empirical research which looks at family and leisure. Both the effects of family factors on leisure behavior, and leisure behavior effects on marital and family outcomes are discussed. It is concluded that leisure behavior appears to be both affected by, and to affect, marriage and family factors. Research to date, however, has been largely exploratory and descriptive. Several research recommendations are made. Keywords
