Isolation of bacteria from the intestines of the mouse pinworms and from their host

Abstract
Bacteria were isolated from homogenates of Syphacea obvelata and Aspicularis tetraptera and from their habitats, the caecum and colon respectively, of mice. The bacterial flora isolated from both pinworms consisted of fewer species of bacteria than did the flora isolated from their respective environments. Only two species of bacteria were isolated from A. tetraptera while five were isolated from S. obvelata.
