Abstract
The background to the creation of the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960 is outlined and the reasons for its recent review are described. The report of the review and the recommendations for new legislation are discussed. The potential implications of these for the practice, management and education of occupational therapists are suggested and possible ways to address them are presented.
