Abstract
Hemodialysis, with the disposable coil kidney, was used to treat a young woman with diabetes in the anuric phase of uremia and in severe acidosis. The blood urea content was reduced from 117 to 48 mg. per 100 ml. in six and one half hours. Dialysis corrected the acidosis, removed catabolites, and made further medical management possible. Keywords
