Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A sixty-two-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of pain in the chest.For many years she had had diffuse aches and pains for which no cause was found on repeated examinations. Ten years previously peripheral edema developed. Five years before admission she was told by a physician that she had hypertension. Two years later she began to experience pain in the anterior portion of the chest, with radiation to the inner aspect of one or both arms; the pain occurred once or twice a week after exertion or exposure to a cold . . .
