Abstract
Preview Arsenic poisoning is a significant public health threat in the United States. Dr Fuortes defines the scope of the problem by reporting on his survey of hospital admissions for arsenic poisoning over a 15-year period. He also compares acute and chronic poisoning, illustrating each with a case report, outlines diagnosis and treatment, and offers recommendations for preventing poisoning by restricting the availability of arsenicals. Keywords
