Abstract
DURING studies of blood viscosity with a method designed to determine resistance to flow in very small blood vessels, it was unexpectedly found that very high pressures became necessary to force blood-bank blood through a microfilter with multiple openings 20 microns square after storage in acid-citrate-dextrose (A.C.D.) solution for two to ten days or longer or in heparin for only one day.
