Abstract
Summary: A simple method of preparing a precipitin antigen from bacteria is presented, which allows of the preparation of such antigens with a rapidity and in concentration hitherto impossible. An attempt to modify the method to extract antigen from pneumonic sputum to determine rapidly the type of pneumococcus present has been partially successful. It is presented as a possible basis for further improvements. Keywords
