Abstract
The sedative, muscle relaxant, antianxiety, and anticonvulsant effects of benzodiazepines may involve several distinct mechanisms because dissociation among these actions can be demonstrated with various drugs. Neurotransmitters displaying prominent interactions with benzodiazepines include gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), glycine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Keywords
