Abstract
This paper reviews three approaches to using the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) in the assessment of narcotics addicts' psychopathology. Two approaches examine the relationship of MMPI profiles to established sociodemographic or psychiatric typologies; the third pertains solely to MMPI-derived personality typologies. Findings from the research literature are presented and their implications for clinical assessment and treatment are discussed. Keywords
