Abstract
Rat parametrial adipose tissue took up radioactive estrone to a considerable extent during both in vivo and in vitro incubation. In an in vivo system, estrone-16-14C radioactivity was lost rapidly from the fat body. This estrogen was not bound to any appreciable extent to subcellular particle. Estrone could not be converted to 17[beta]-estradioi to any appreciable extent nor conjugated by the tissue. This study suggests that rat adipose tissue may not be an important storage site for estrone.
