Abstract
Studies on the peritoneal fluid of mice subjected to 375 and 465 rads of ionizing radiation delivered locally in one dose to the mouse abdomen indicate that: Cells vary in their response to radiation. Mast cells and histiocytes showed a definite increase at 15 minutes, and at no time was there any evidence that either cell types was damaged by radiation. Lymphocytes on the other hand, showed a definite decrease in numbers, and abnormal morphology. Keywords
