Abstract
When a continuous wetting transition is approached from below, the correlation length associated with interface fluctuation diverges. For a model with exponential interactions, the exponent ν characterizing this divergence was previously found to be nonuniversal, even within classical van der Waals theory. In this note we renormalize the classical value of ν, following closely the procedure established by Brézin, Halperin, and Leibler. In the present case renormalization modifies the exponent only slightly. Keywords
