Abstract
Hydatella inconspicua (Cheesem.) Cheesem. is recorded from two new localities in New Zealand and its apparent disappearance from two of the five previously recorded ones is noted. At one of the new localities counts made of the numbers of male and female inflorescences showed that females were much more numerous than males. Plants were also found at much greater depths than previously. In the laboratory, plants seem to persist for more than one year and it is suggested that H. inconspicua may not always be an annual.
