Apparatus for Determining Sulfur in Organic Compounds by Means of Gas Chromatography

Abstract
A simple and rapid method for the determination of sulfur and carbon was developed using a converted Schoniger flask. Complete oxidation is accomplished in a pure oxygen atmosphere by the introduction of a high voltage discharge from a Tesla coil. Results show a high precision, yet in certain cases undetermined factors increase the relative error to a value as high as 4.5%.
