Abstract
An important aspect of education in the sciences is the development of intuition concerning phenomena predicted by fundamental theories. Science education today is primarily aimed at expounding theories and showing how to apply them. The computer can greatly aid students in building such intuition by providing a rich range of experiences not found in the everyday world or in the laboratory. Examples are given from the work of the Physics Computer Development Project at the University of California, Irvine.
