Abstract
The history of psychotherapy describes the emergence and decline of various models of intervention. The recent proliferation of behavior therapy technology is examined in this perspective. While empiricism appears to be the greatest asset of behavioral technology, many problem areas are emerging which threaten the existence of behavior therapy. Problem areas are specified and potential solutions are delineated. Keywords
