Abstract
An I131 labeled protein test meal was given orally to a group of normal human subjects and dogs. Radioanalysis of blood samples taken at intervals up to 3 hours showed a characteristics, reproducible curve which usually peaked in 2 hours. The test meal was opacified with BaSO4 to permit radiographic study of the gastric emptying and progress of the meal through the intestine. The time of initial appearance of I131 in the blood depended upon the time of gastric emptying. Keywords
