Abstract
50 patients, 16-34 yrs., were seen because of dysmenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, metrorrhagia and menorrhagia. The B. M. R.''s ranged from [long dash]1 to [long dash]33, average [long dash]15. All were treated with desiccated thyroid. Of 25 cases of dysmenorrhea, 17 had complete relief, 5 partial, 3 no relief. All 17 with oligomenorrhea had complete relief. One of 4 with amenorrhea had relief. 12 of 13 with metrorrhagia had complete relief. 6 of 7 with menorrhagia had complete relief. A therapeutic trial of thyroid is indicated in individuals complaining of menstrual irregularity if the B. M. R. is zero or below. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
