Abstract
The dopant structure in FeCl3-doped polyacetylene was studied from the analysis of Fe K-edge EXAFS and XANES, measured by use of synchroton radiation. It is concluded that Fe atom is surrounded by four Cl atoms with Fe–Cl distance of 2.19–2.20 Å, and the dopant exists in the state of [FeCl4]−. The following mechanism is proposed for the doping process:Keywords
