Abstract
Concentration and content of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, B, Cu, Zn, Al, Mo, Sr, and Ba in fruit of pecan (Carya illinoensis Koch) differed among kernel, shell, and shuck tissue. Relative to fruits harvested from other tree crops, element removal by nut harvest (21.0 to 22.5 kg/1200 kg dry wt of nuts per ha) was small. Potassium comprised about 58% of the total elemental content of the fruit. Approximately 70% of the total elemental content of the fruit is returned to the soil through the shuck.
