Abstract
A simple modification of a laboratory gravimetric technique for the study of transpiration of intact plants is described, by which the process can be followed continually. The plants are grown in light vessels on a light “keramzite” or other suitable medium, either alone or in combination with agar gel. The mineral component provides for the necessary cultivation properties of the medium, whereas agar gel ensures steady and undisturbed water relations in longer experiments. Keywords
