Abstract
The relationship of rainfall, fog drip, and evaporation to the distribution of forest types was examined in the Mt. Beenak state forest, Victoria. The distribution of forest types on ridges can be accounted for satisfactorily in terms of those variables. This was not so in the valleys, where soil features could prove to be more important in determining forest type distribution. Keywords
