The effect of soil microorganisms on the concentration of molybdenum in the radish ( Raphanus sativus L.), variety “White Icicle”

Abstract
An experimental system has been established using the radish (Raphanus sativus L.), variety “White Icicle,” which allows the investigation in vitro of the effect of soil microorganisms on the availability of molybdenum to plants. The system has been used to study the reasons why vegetables, grown in two soils derived from similar parent materials and having comparable amounts of total molybdenum, contain different concentrations of molybdenum. The results indicate that microorganisms affect molybdenum concentration in plants and may do so in several ways and the effects are different in the two soils studied.Keywords
