Instrumentation for plasma diagnostics

Abstract
T HE LAST DECADE has brought about enormous growth in efforts toward understanding plasmas. This growth has come primarily from two sources: the controlled-thermonuclear-research program and the space program, both of which have lent support to many research fields with overlapping interests, such as applied optics, low-energy-beam cross-section measurements and electromagnetic-wave propagation in ionized media.
