Abstract
Turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo) [32] were radio-marked and tracked over a 10 mo. period. Late fall movements were erratic, covering an average of 288 ha in Dec. Winter movements were confined to less than 25 ha for most birds. Movement to spring breeding areas was greatest for juvenile females and least for adult males. During the summer males moved extensively, with their June home ranges averaging 524 ha. Home ranges of females with broods increased throughout the summer and averaged 176 ha in Aug. Winter and summer movements contrasted sharply with those observed in other regions. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
