Abstract
Tomato pith necrosis was detected for the 1st time in the USA on ''Casino Royal'' tomato in San Diego. Symptoms of infection were stunting, stem lesions and necrosis of the pith, which produced scattered hollow areas. Based on physiological, biochemical and pathogenicity tests, the pathogen was identified as P. corrugata. Keywords
